Now into its fourth year, the East Farm Demonstration Vegetable Garden, located adjacent to the Master Gardener Field House at East Farm, has had continued success as an educational facility for Master Gardeners and the public and as a source of produce for the RI Community Food Bank. The garden consists of vege1table beds, an herb garden, a no-till garden, container-growing experiments, and a mix of perennial and annual flowers. It also has a demonstration composting operation and a state-of-the-art drip irrigation system. The garden on URIs campus is located at the end of the Cooperative Extension building. It is smaller than East Farm's garden and some volunteers prefer to work here because gardening is in raised beds instead of the field.
