The James Mitchell Varnum House Project is a historic revitalization of the colonial kitchen herb, dye and medicinal garden.  This 18th century educational garden is open to the public on a daily basis with self-guided tours.  The plant selections are labeled and include a description of what the plants were used for in that period.  URI Master Gardeners designed and maintain the educational gardens as well as a rose garden on the property.
