This intergenerational project brings together the URI Master Gardeners Association, the Veterans Home, and Mount Hope High School Special Education Department. Twelve Master Gardeners are involved annually. The greenhouses, potting shed, nursery area, and 22 gardens offer students in the Master Gardener Program, as well as seasoned Master Gardeners, continuing hands-on educational experience and volunteer opportunities. In addition to planting and maintaining gardens for visitors and residents, special education students are instructed in basic gardening skills.

From Providence take I-195 East to exit 2 (Route 136 S). Follow Route 136 into Bristol where 136 is also called Metacom Avenue. The Veterans Home is on the left at 480 Metacom Avenue.

From Newport take Route 114 North over the Mount Hope Bridge and then bear right onto Route 136 North, which is again Metacom Avenue. The Veterans Home will be on the right at 480 Metacom Avenue.

There are two cannons in the front and two tall flag poles.
